Apostherapy® in Kensington

Sprint is a recognised partner of AposTherapy®, providing treatment at our Kensington clinic under the care of two qualified and certified therapists.

AposTherapy® is an innovative and non-surgical management and treatment option for those who have chronic pain in their ankles, knees, hips or lower back, as a result of injury, poor biomechanics or osteoarthritis.

For those who are struggling with daily pain that has not responded to standard physiotherapy, regularly need to take pain medication or are facing knee joint replacement surgery this could be the answer.

Your trained AposTherapy® physiotherapist will conduct a free no obligation consultation, during which you will have your walking and biomechanics analysed by a state of the art gait scan. Following this and an assessment of the affected joint, you will be fitted with the individually calibrated boot device and reassessed.  Many patients find an instant reduction in their pain levels when wearing the device, as it corrects the alignment in the body whilst walking and alleviates pressure on the joints, thereby reducing further wear and tear and bracing of the muscles around the joint.  The personalised treatment retrains the brain and muscles to work correctly to re-educate the joint and encourages your body to walk in a more symmetrical pattern, alleviating pain even when you are not wearing the device.

The programme is initially carried out over a year, during which the patient’s symptoms are monitored, and the devices are continually recalibrated to ensure treatment maintains the reduction in symptoms, especially when you are not wearing the devices.  The longer period of treatment allows time for the body to slowly correct patterns of movement and learned habits, or compensation tactics that may have been present for many years.

85% of AposTherapy® patients report a reduction in pain levels in just over a month (independent UK survey) and it is clinically proven to improve function, with over 50,000 patients worldwide benefitting to date.
