Sprint offers Pilates in Kensington in our fully equipped studio, which features a trapeze table, reformer, Wunda chair and a matwork area with plenty of natural light.
Pilates focuses on building the body’s core strength and improving posture through a series of low repetition, low impact stretching and conditioning exercises. A strong core (back, abdominals and pelvis) helps to minimise back pain and other problems. Pilates aims to bring the body into a balanced alignment so that posture, strength, performance and aesthetic are achieved and sustained effortlessly. It is suitable for everyone, regardless of age or fitness level.
Pilates sessions 2:1 These are ideal if you want to have a regular exercise session that focuses on core strength, alignment and control. At the end of each session you will feel taller, stronger and more balanced. Our Pilates instructor offers 2:1 sessions in the studio. This means that you work for an hour alongside someone else, although the exercises are tailored to your needs. Our instructor is highly experienced and is very used to dealing with post-injury rehabilitation, liaising closely with our physiotherapy team.
Clinical Pilates Several of our physiotherapists are trained in Clinical Pilates, which has been specifically developed in conjunction with physiotherapy principles and research, and incorporate these techniques within their treatment sessions. Once your physiotherapist feels that you no longer require ‘hands on’ treatment, they may transfer you in to the gym for a Pilates Double Up class. This allows you to spend an hour with the physiotherapist and one other person, giving you more time to progress your exercises and further your rehabilitation using the Pilates equipment.
Our Pilates instructor and physiotherapists are all able to adapt exercises to allow you to continue to safely practice Pilates in pregnancy. To find out more about Pilates in Kensington or to book an appointment please call us.
